Since 1972, Vanuatu has built a global reputation, and is known for its offshore financial centre. There is no income tax, no corporate tax, and no capital gains tax. There are certain import duties, including: 15% VAT, tax on rental income, stamp duty on some property transactions and share transfers.
Vanuatu is a safe and stable country with a population of around 300 000 people. The local currency is Vanuatu vatu, but US Dollars are widely accepted, with currency exchanges available.
